HUMANS ARE THE ENEMY, ZOMBIES ARE THE WEAPONS IN MOVING HAZARD; UPCOMING PC TITLE FROM PSYOP GAMES AND ILLFONIC
Psyop’s First Original Game Presents Unique Shooter Scenario Where the Zed War is Lost and Military Combat is Augmented by Controlling the Shambling Horde
“Some of the most interesting and terrifying scenes in zombie pop-culture, from the likes of The Walking Dead or Dawn of the Dead, are when humans unleash the devastating force of the impenetrable undead upon their enemies,” said Matt Wilkinson, head of tech, Psyop Games. “Using the zombies as weapons causes chaos, fear, and confusion that can quickly overwhelm opponents and change the landscape of the battle. Moving Hazard looks to capture this moment with fresh tools and tactics that will combine classic military shooter and zombie survival gameplay in a totally new way.”
In Moving Hazard, the zombie war is already lost and what remains of humanity has retreated to fortified military bases, leaving everything in between to the shambling corpses. In order to survive, the player’s squad must venture into the wasteland and face off against other survivors for control of important resources and strategic command points.
“If you take the best parts of a military shooter like Counter Strike or SOCOM, and add tons of flesh-hungry undead that you can control, you begin to get a basic idea of what Moving Hazard will be like,” said Charles Brungardt, president, IllFonic. “There’s much more to it than that, but at some point, players will have to make a critical decision about which is the primary threat – the human enemy shooting at them or the grenade just thrown behind them, bringing with it an unstoppable wall of rotting corpses.”
Featuring realistic weapons and a full arsenal of tactical equipment, including military-grade assault weapons, classic fragmentation and smoke grenades, and claymores, Moving Hazard is a full-fledged military shooter.
However, players will also need to take advantage of technology specifically evolved in this post-apocalyptic hellscape that allow them to control the mindless shamblers by attracting, repelling, sedating, angering, or even booby-trapping the horde. A few examples of this enhanced zed-powered arsenal include:
- The Pheromone Attractor Molotov (aka The PAM): turns any infected frenzied and hunt down enemies for a short period of time;
- The Chaos Grenade: which stuns enemies while frenzying nearby zombies;
- The Templar: broadcasts a signal that repels zombies, forcing the horde to turn in their tracks to head away as fast as possible.
These items and more allow players to shift the flow of combat on each map and present tactical options not found in any other squad-based shooter.Moving Hazard is expected to release for personal computer in 2016.
